Donald Holland was born July 31, 1949 in Surry County, North Carolina, son of Evelyn Moser Holland and the late Strucy “I. S.” Holland. He was a proud Vietnam War Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. He enjoyed his work retiring after many years of service from Lowes Home Improvements. He was an avid sports fan especially for the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed spending time at White Lake and wood working when time allowed. Donald most loved spending precious time with his family, especially with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Donald passed away at the age of 72 on October 11, 2021.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 12 years, Sandra Smith Holland of the home; sons, Chris Holland (Kim), Jacob Holland (Angie); stepson, Michael “Lee” Stubbs (Nicole) and stepdaughter, Andrea Stubbs (Jerry); his mother, Evelyn Holland; brothers, Darrell Holland, Danny Holland (Linda); sisters, Thelma Wright, Carolyn Norton, Helen Garrett; grandchildren, Benjamin Holland (Savanah), Haley Marion (Brandon), Brittany Willard, Natalie Holland, Riley Holland, Seth Holland, Jayden Locklear, Kinston Locklear, Isabella Stubbs, Emma Stubbs, and his great granddaughter, Caroline, expected in December. Donald is also survived by a host of many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
A Graveside service with military honors will be at Noon, on Friday, October 15, 2021 in Hillside Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Crystal Blue. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at graveside.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be given to Scotland Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
COVID-19 restrictions of facial mask, social distancing along with limited attendance are requested for all service.
