Dixie Butler Mancil

Dixie Butler Graham Mancil of Laurinburg departed this life at the age of 86 of September 14, 2024.

She was born October 12, 1937 in Scotland County, NC, daughter of the late George Washington Butler and the late Jessie Bell Revels Butler. Dixie’s love of children led to a fulfilling career as a Teacher Assistant with the Scotland County School system, where she enjoyed her time in the classroom until retiring. She served as a longtime faithful member of Northview Harvest Ministries and volunteered with the Extended Hands Ministry. Dixie enjoyed writing poetry, crafting, and working with flowers. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family and the memories they shared. Dixie will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all how knew and loved her.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Butler, Larry Butler; and sisters, Shirley Butler Finch, Vaun Johnson, and Joyce Lamont.

Dixie is survived by husband, Allen Mancil; sons, Rick Crook (Diane) of Columbia, SC, Keith Graham (Amy) of Laurinburg; daughter, Vicky McNeill (Shane) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Christopher “Mikie” Jones, Heather Lako, Jenney Crook, Brain Graham, Eric Graham, Cody Norris, and Winter Norris; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Northview Harvest Ministries with burial following in Laurinburg Memorial Park.  Visitation will be help prior to services on Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Northview Harvest Ministries.
