Dewey Dane Oxendine, age 68 of Laurinburg, NC passed away to his Heavenly home on April 9, 2025.
He was born May 17, 1956 in Scotland County, NC, son of the late Rev. John Coy Oxendine and the late Geneva Hunt Oxendine. Dewey worked in maintenance with Scotland County for many years until his retirement. He served as a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Dewey enjoyed working in his flower gardens and woodworking. His greatest joy came from time spent with family, especially his nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own. Dewey will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Linda Faye Oxendine and Brenda Oxendine Price.
Left to cherish his memory are brothers, James Coy Oxendine (Gail) of Laurinburg and Rev. Charles F. Oxendine of Maxton; special niece, Ashley Locklear (Charles) and their daughter, Mahala; nieces and nephews, Chuck, Belinda, Jason, Brandy; and special friends, Vivian and Sandra; along with his many loving extended family and friends.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.
A time of visitation will be held prior to the services from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
