Deborah "Debbie" Grooms Jones

Deborah “Debbie” Grooms Jones of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of McColl was born September 3, 1973 to parents, Richard Grooms and Faye Hardin Harper. She attended McColl Church of God and was a graduate of Marlboro County High School, Class of 1991. Debbie was employed with Bellsouth and most recently in telemarketing. Debbie enjoyed journaling, word puzzles, cooking, her midnight snacks, and was an excellent housekeeper. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and her grandchildren. Debbie passed away at the age of 48 on November 5, 2021.

Debbie touched a lot of lives during her short time here, but without a doubt, left a lasting impression on each of those lives. She had a heart of gold and helped many people in need if she could help.

Debbie is survived by her sons, Jonathan Jones, Jr. (Rachel), Tyler Jones, Jameson Locklear (Lacie); parents, Richard Grooms and Faye Hardin Harper; grandsons, Jaxson Jones, Jace Jones, Jett Jones, Khyius Wade; sister, Penny Grooms (Michael); special cousin, Jessica Quick; stepbrother, Anthony Maynor; step sisters, Nicole Jacobs, Anitra Locklear, and Atoria Chavis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by stepmother, Renee Grooms; grandparents, Gordon and Virginia Smith; maternal grandparents, Roy and Elsie Hill; paternal grandparents, Allen and Dovie Grooms, and cousin, Johnny Horton.

A Memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service Friday at the funeral home.
