David Wayne Hardie, age 64 of Laurel Hill passed away on May 8, 2025 giving the gift of life to many as an organ donor.
He was born in Munich, Germany August 15, 1960, cherished son of Virginia Tucker Hardie and the late Roy Jr. Hardie. David had a long career in communications with Bellsouth then AT&T until his retirement. He faithfully served as a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He was a great hunter and fisherman, loved making others laugh and truly cherished his family. He was a one-of-a-kind man, best husband, loving and supporting father, and a great grandpa, along with being a devoted friend. David will deeply be missed by each of his loved ones.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Susan Woodard-Hardie of their home; his mother, Virginia Tucker Hardie of Laurinburg; son, David “Keith” Willis of Laurinburg; daughters, Amber Marie Reeves of Georgia, Jennifer Lynn Lee of Maxton, NC, Amanda Sue Willis of McColl, SC; brothers, Roy Jr., Hardie and Willliam Kelly Hardie both of Laurel Hill; sister, Vickie Louise Sanford of Wagram; fourteen adored grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many devoted friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025 at the New Hope Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Nathan Black. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the church.
