David Levi Ely

David Levi Ely, age 81 of Maxton, NC went home to be with his savior on August 19th, 2024.

David was born in 1943 and raised in Vestal, NY, where he met his wife of 58 years, Judy Irene Boyer Ely, who went to be with the Lord in 2020. David spent his life providing for his family through his love of many trades. He was a very talented man who excelled at all he did.

David's dedication to his community was unwavering. His time as a volunteer fire chief and fireman was a testament to his selflessness. He always found time to share the stories of his years of service. As a deacon for the First Baptist Church of Maxton, he shared his love of the Lord with others, cherishing his church family.

David's family was his pride and joy. He leaves behind his wife of 2 years, Victoria Graham, three sons, three daughters, thirteen grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  His surviving children are Charles (Tammy) Ely, Lake City, FL; Darcy (Claudia) Ely of Maxton, NC.; Brenda (Jefrey) Spadine, Nicholson, PA.; Tammy Bonnice, Montrose, PA.; Vicky (Adrian) Brealey, Allentown, PA.; Eric (Katie) Ely, South Montrose, PA.

Memorial donations are requested to be made to First Baptist Church of Maxton, 107 N. Florence Street, Maxton, NC 28364

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, August 23rd at the First Baptist Church of Maxton.
