Darlene Grimsley Grice was born on April 7, 1958 in Dillon County, South Carolina, daughter of the late Earl Harold Grimsley and Ophila Hulon Grimsley. She was wife to the late James Monroe Grice who preceded her in death in 2018. Darlene worked many years with Church Community Services and was a member of Wagram Emanuel Holiness Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, riding in the boat and fishing. She will always be cherished in memory as a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Darlene passed away at the age of 64 on May 10, 2022.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Thurman Grimsley.
She leaves behind her sons, James Robert “Bo” Grice (Gail) of Whiteville, WV, David Wayne Grice (Taylor) of Laurinburg; daughters, Shirley Faye Ryder (Ricky) of Granite Falls, Cynthia Michelle Grice (Country) of Laurel Hill; brothers, Harold Grimsley of FLA, Wayne Grimsley (Cindy) of Swansea, SC; sister-in-law, Terri Grimsley of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Bradley, Dylan, Rick, Cheyenne, Alex, Gracie, Mavrick, Riley, Bella, Miranda, seven great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Wagram Emanuel Holiness Church. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
