Darleaner "Pumpkin" Bryant Deese

Darleaner  "Pumpkin" Bryant Deese of Maxton, North Carolina, departed this life at the age of 66 on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

She was the loving daughter of the late Willie Kermit Bryant and the late Howard Lee Cummings Bryant, born January 27, 1958 in Scotland County, North Carolina. Through the years, Darleaner loved being a homemaker along with working in home healthcare, the textile industry, and as a truck driver. She served as a member of Smithtown Church of God, loved fishing, gardening, tending her flowers, and traveling. Her greatest joy came from time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Darleaner was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will truly be missed.

Left to cherish her memory is son, Christopher Allen Bryant (Brittany) of McColl, SC; daughter, Glenda M. Deese Godwin (Earl) of Maxton; brothers, Ronald Bryant (Glenda) of Laurinburg, Don Bryant (Annette) of Maxton, Dwight D. Bryant of Maxton, and Kermit “Ray” Bryant (Sophia) also of Maxton; sister, Tammy Kay Bryant (Kenny Ray) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Patrick Scott, Tristin Scott, Kendrick Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Clarissa Bryant, Cameron Bryant; and great-grandchild, Preslie Scott; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A time of visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Smithtown Church of God in Maxton with burial following in the church cemetery.
