Danny Lee Oxendine of Maxton departed this life at the age of 59 on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
He was born June 5, 1965, loving son of the late Monroe and Evelyn Locklear Oxendine, in Scotland County, NC. Danny was a valued employee of Eaton Corporation for many years until his health declined. He enjoyed attending Gray Pond Baptist Church. Danny was an avid sports fan and car enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the beach, and making beautiful Native American jewelry. His greatest joy came from family and the time they spent together. Danny will be greatly missed and fondly remembered as a loving “Gentle Giant” and a jokester who could always put a smile on your face or make you laugh.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Jeffery Oxendine and Johnnie Lee Oxendine.
Danny is survived by his beloved wife, Amanda Hyatt Oxendine of the home; stepsons, Jeromie Norris (Amber) of Marion, SC, Dusty Hyatt (Alyssia) of Morganton, Devan Murrow of Maxton; brothers, Randy Oxendine (Jacqueline) of Wilmington, Anthony Hunt (Sharon) of Laurinburg; sisters, Annie “Pearl” Oxendine Norton (Ben) of Maxton, Lisa Hunt (Greg) of Lumberton; sisters-in-law, Beverly Kemmerlin and Jenny Renfro; special cousin, Juanita “Nita” Strickland; along with a host of loving grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Horace Oxendine. Burial will follow in the Strickland Family Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held prior to services on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Richard Boles Funeral Service.
