Daniel "Rabbit" Duncan Jones, Jr.

Mr. Daniel “Rabbit” Duncan Jones, Jr., age 90 of Laurinburg, NC passed away on April 27, 2025.

Born in Robeson County, NC on September 2, 1934, loving son of the late Daniel Duncan Jones, Sr., and the late Christine Caddell Jones. Rabbit was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was a valued employee with Pilot Freight Carriers, retiring after 32 years. Rabbit enjoyed his chewing tobacco, old trucks, hunting, and taking care of his dogs. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, devoted brother, and friend who will be truly missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beulah “Bootsie” Dawkins Jones; son, Danny Ray Jones; sisters, Annie Neal Jones and Betty Downer.

Left to cherish his memory is son, Michael W. Jones (Marie) of Laurinburg; sister, Margie Beck of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Hope Williams (Keith), Christopher Michael Jones (Angela), Daniel Duncan Jones, III, Brandon Wayne Jones, Jessica Kayla Quick, Austin Blake Jones, Jordon Jones, Amber Jones; and great-grandchildren, Madison Williams and Morgan Williams; along with many loving extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  Burial with military honors will follow in the Caledonia Methodist Church Cemetery.    

Visitation will be held prior to services on Friday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
