Daniel “Donald Mack” Locklear, age 75 of Hamlet passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
He was born in Scotland County on October 6, 1949, loving son of the late Barney and Elizabeth Oxendine Locklear. Daniel retired from the logging industry with Horace Logging Company after many dedicated years. He enjoyed attending East Laurinburg Church of God. Daniel was a simple man who enjoyed watching old western movies and tending his garden. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Daniel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with parents, he is preceded in death by son, Donald “Chief” W. Davis; brother, Clinton A. Oxendine; and sisters, Betty Sue Barton, Mary Jane Locklear, and Lizzie Locklear Bullard.
Daniel is survived by son, Daniel Davis (Brandi) of Hamlet; daughters, Mary D. McCune (Michael) of Hamlet and Danielle Davis also of Hamlet; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; along with many loving extended family and friends.
Service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at East Laurinburg Church of God with burial following in Davis and Laviner Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday beginning 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
