Curtis "Buddy" Wade Lewis, Jr.

Curtis Wade Lewis, Jr., known by his family and friends as “Buddy” passed away at the age of 70 on May 14, 2022.

Born September 3, 1951 in Laurinburg, he was the son of the late Curtis Wade Lewis, Sr., and Betty Perkins Lewis Caulder.  He worked in management with the ABC Store retiring after many years of service.  Following retirement, Buddy moved to North Myrle Beach, South Carolina where he enjoyed time on the beach, searching for shark’s teeth, and long walks with is K9 pal, Buffett.  He was an avid fan of all sports, his favorite being the Duke Blue Devils, NASCAR and fantasy ball.  He loved all types of movies and music, especially that performed by Jimmy Buffett, who his little Jack Russell “Buffett” is named.  Above all, Buddy’s life was centered around his daughter, Jessie, whom he was so proud of and adored.   

Buddy is survived by his daughter, Jessica “Jessie” Dean Lewis of Laurinburg and a sister, Brenda Little of Greenville, along with a host of many loving friends.

Memorial donations in Buddy’s memory are requested to be given to the Humane Society of Scotland County, 1401 West Boulevard, Laurinburg, NC 28352.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
