Cosandra Kay “Monkey” Hunt was born February 20, 1971 in Laurinburg, North Carolina, a daughter of Billy Ray Locklear, Sr. and the late Patricia Ann Locklear. She worked at Prospect Slaughter Pen for over fifteen years. She loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. Cosandra passed away at the age of 50 on Saturday, October 9, 2021. She was a caring, loving, and devoted mother, sister, and aunt that will truly be missed.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Angel Lambert and Baby Lambert.
Cosandra is survived by her two children, John Lambert and Chrissandra Lambert; father, Billy Ray Locklear, Sr.; brothers, Chuck Locklear, Billy Ray Locklear, Jr., all of the home; one sister, Billie Ann Locklear Cummings (Odell) of Rowland; niece, Cheyenne Oxendine (Randall Clark), nephew, Andrew Cummings, both of Rowland; great niece and nephews, Paylen Clark, Kayden Oxendine, Brayden Clark, all of Rowland, and special friend, Carlton “Poke” Cummings, along with a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow the service in Hunt Family Cemetery in Rowland. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the funeral home.
