Charlotte Stack Sutton, age 85 of Laurinburg passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 in Morrison Manor.
She was the daughter of the late Ralph Leroy and Dorothy Fisher Stack. Charlotte was the 1,000th graduate from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. Following graduation, she began her nursing career at Presbyterian Hospital. Her career led her to many different states including working on the Hopi Indian Reservation in Arizona. She was a well-known and respected Nursing Supervisor at Scotland Memorial Hospital. After her retirement, she spent several years working with Professional Providers doing home healthcare. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, spending time with her family and going out to eat with her nurses group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ann McMillan and husband Albert R. McMillan Jr., brother-in-law Johnny Swing and nephew, Don Swing.
Charlotte is survived by her sister, Irma Swing of Cornelius; brother, Ricky Stack (Angela) of Dalton, GA; a step daughter, Jaimie Harrington of Salt Lake City, UT; nieces, Ann McMillan of Morrisville, Meg McMillan of Pilot Mt, Coy Moody (Chris), of the home, Tricia Cothron (AJ) and Mary Greenway of Dalton, GA ; nephews, Scott Swing (Olivia) of Olin, Reyn McMillan of Pilot Mt, Aaron Stack (Heather) of Laurinburg along with many great nieces and nephews and some extended family.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church with a time of visitation following the service.
Graveside interment will be held prior to services in Hillside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church Scholarship fund or to Scotland Regional Hospice.
