Mr. Charles William “Billy” Rogers, Jr., of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 72 on December 28, 2024.
He was born August 31, 1952 in Sumter, South Carolina, loving son of the late Charles William Rogers, Sr., and the late Annie Lowder Rogers. Billy proudly served with the South Carolina National Guard. He worked as a mechanic with the Campbell Soup Company, retiring after fifty dedicated years of service. Billy was a very determined man who could do anything he set his mind to. He loved to help everyone he could and genuinely enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Billy is survived by his adored wife, Brenda McLeod Rogers of the home; daughters, Ashley Rogers of Nashville, TN, and Kathryn Rogers of Worchester, MA; siblings, Steve A. Rogers, Ann M. Fronabager (Karle), Susan E. Rockwood, and Norma Jean Rogers McAfee (Jerry); along with many loving extended family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation with the family will follow the services on at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given in Billy’s memory to the Humane Society of Scotland County, 1401 West Boulevard, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
The family will also have a service in his home town of Sumter, South Carolina on Saturday, January 4th, at 3:00 p.m. in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home & Crematorium.
