Mr. Charles David Locklear, known by many as “CD” departed this life for his Heavenly home at the age of 77 on the morning of Wednesday, September 10, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.
Charles was one of ten children of the late John Winston Locklear and Addie Mae Harris Locklear born February 2, 1948 in Robeson County, NC. He was a hardworking man with a career as a Hog Farmer for more than 58 years who still enjoyed visiting the donkey and cows on the farm. He owned a trucking company for many years and had kept in contact with many of his employees and those he met in that industry. Charles has served faithfully in his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 47 years. He loved to quote scripture and share his testimony to everyone he encountered. For the past seven years, he has enjoyed his Mooresville, NC home on Lake Norman with his wife, Inez. Charles was a devoted family man and loved having all his family around from children, grandchildren and daughters-in-law. He leaves a legacy of love that remain in the hearts and memories of his family and loved ones.
Along with his parents, preceding him in death are his children, Paul Locklear and Paula Locklear, and Charles Anthony Locklear; sister, Dora Locklear; brothers, Herman Locklear, John Paul Locklear, Carlon Locklear and Hughes M. Locklear.
Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 ½ years, Inez Snuggs Locklear of their home; sons, John Winston Locklear II and wife, Sabrina of Laurinburg, NC, Kelvin Wade Locklear and wife, April of Mooresville, NC; adoring grandchildren, McKayla Locklear of Hamlet, NC, Ashton Locklear of Raleigh, NC, Karrington Locklear of Rockingham, NC, Jordan Locklear and wife, Kiara of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Charlie Locklear and Kameron Locklear both of Mooresville, NC, Justin Causey and wife, Haley of Smithfield, NC, soon expecting the first great grandson; brother, Samuel Locklear; sisters, Rose Marie McNeil, Glenda Ann Chavis, Debra Lynn Locklear; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, along with a host of loving family and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will have a time of visitation prior to the service on Friday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
