Charles Edward Hinson

Charles Edward Hinson passed away at the age of 76 on February 26th, 2026.

He was born on August 24, 1949 to the late Fred Hinson and Ella Watson Hinson, and grew up in Scotland County. Charles was an employee of Pilkington Glass in Laurinburg with about 40 years of service. He retired to Twin Harbor (Lake Tillery) in Mount Gilead, NC and had recently relocated to Bentonville, Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, watching old Westerns, RVing, and riding the golf cart with his dog, Snickers. However, his greatest joy was in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always willing to go above and beyond for those around him, and he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jim Hinson.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Martha Lynn Hinson, of 32 years; sons, Freddie Hinson (Tammy) of Hamlet, Jeff Hinson of Laurinburg, Jeremy Hinson of Rockingham, Jason White (Brooke) of Rockingham, John Sessoms (Rebecca) of Bentonville, AR; daughter, Misty Sessoms Peed (Patrick) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Kelsie, Hinson, Robbie, Haley, Lexi, Savannah, Abby, Jeremy Jr., and Jaxon; sisters, Lib Hyduke, Jean Archer (Larry), Gladys White; and brother Bob Hinson (Ann); along with many loving extended family and friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19th beginning at 4:00pm until 5:00pm at Twin Harbor Worship Center, 220 Twin Harbor Drive, Mount Gilead, NC.
