Mr. Cecil Thomas Walker, Jr., of Laurinburg departed this life for his Heavenly home at the age of 78 on March 20, 2025.
He was born in Sumner County, Tennessee on January 17, 1947, loving son of the late Cecil Thomas Walker, Sr., and the late Olivia Marshall Walker. Cecil proudly served our country in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. His love of tractors led to a fulfilling career as the manager of the John Deere Dealership in Clio, SC, for many dedicated years until retiring.
Cecil served as a devout member of the First United Methodist Church of Laurinburg. He enjoyed working in the yard, target shooting, was an avid sports fan, who also loved everything Christmas. Cecil took great pleasure in restoring antique one-stroke engine tractors, and eating out, especially at Biscuitville, where he was fondly known as the Breakfast Club greeter. His love for his community was evident, volunteering with the John Blue Cotton Festival, the Kiwanis Club, and the Historical Society. Cecil will be deeply missed and remembered for his deep love and devotion for his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory is his adored wife, Nancy Fly Walker of the home; sister-in-law, Patty F. Parden of Pulaski, TN; nieces, Jennifer Willis and Amanda Norwood both of Tennessee; along with his loving extended family and many friends.
The celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church of Laurinburg. A time of visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
