Cecil Wayne Stewart, Jr.

Cecil Wayne Stewart, Jr. of Gibson, NC, passed away at the age of 46 on Thursday, September 22, 2022. He was the loving son of Brenda Fields Stewart and the late Cecil Wayne Stewart Sr.

Cecil known to many of his family and friends as “Little Cecil” was a passionate outdoorsman and avid hunter who especially enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting with his hunting dogs.  He was proud to be a Professional Dog Trainer particularly with training tracking dogs.  Cecil attended and worshipped at Hillside Free Will Baptist Church and the Living Waters Church of God. Although he struggled with disabilities, Cecil was strong willed and accomplished his goals and joys in life. He loved spending time with family and cherished the time shared with his adored daughter Morgan. Cecil was a loving father, brother, uncle, and devoted friend who was loved by many that left a mark on their lives.  

Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Morgan Stewart, and her mother, Evelyn Gilliard of Laurinburg; his mother, Brenda Stewart of Laurinburg; grandmother, Evelyn Fields of Laurinburg; and sister, Missy Baker of Laurinburg; niece, Courtney Collins of Laurinburg; nephew, Kyle Collins of Laurel Hill; and his beloved K-9, Ruger; along with his loving aunts, cousins, and many friends who will miss his presence greatly.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Woody Byrd and Rev. Tommy Blackwell.  Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park.

Visitation to be held 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, September 24, 2022 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
