Cathy Snuggs Swinney

Cathy Snuggs Swinney, age 72 of Rockingham passed away on April 12, 2025.

She was born January 17, 1953 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Malvin Aaron Snuggs, Sr., and the late Mary Ollie Strickland Snuggs. Cathy worked in customer service within the retail industry for many years until retiring. She actively served as a member and Sunday School teacher of McDonald Baptist Church.  Cathy enjoyed arts and crafts, listening to classic rock and especially music by Elvis, and meeting with her Hardee’s Breakfast group. She will be truly missed by her loving family and friends.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Mitchell Strickland.

Cathy is survived by son, Quinton Swinney (Ashlee) of Rockingham; daughter, Crystal Watts; brothers, Gary W. Snuggs and Lester Snuggs both of Laurel Hill, Malvin A. Snuggs, Jr., (Elizabeth Ann) of McColl, SC; her loving twenty one grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at McDonald Baptist Church with burial following in the McDonald Baptist Church Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held prior to the services from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
