Obituary

Carolyn Louise Dees Johnson of Gibson, NC, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this life at the age of 64 on August 26, 2023.

Born on October 8, 1958 in Scotland County, NC to the late Peter Currie Dees and the late Margaret Louise Thompson Dees. Carolyn worked for many dedicated years with Springs Mill.  Her greatest enjoyment came from time spent with her family and friends.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Calvin Johnson; brothers, Pete Dees, James Dees, Charles Dees; and sister, Sandra Troublefield.

Left to rejoice in her memory are sons, James M. Campbell (MaeLynn), Charles Causey both of Gibson, NC; daughter, Amy McLain (Donald) of Gibson, NC; brother, George Dees (Pat) of Southern Pines, NC; grandchildren, Krystal Blair Campbell Jefferies, Kaitlyn Campbell Day; great-grandchildren, Serenity A. Emanuel, Brice Parker, Sabrina Clark, Kaelynn Clark, Jasmine Dial, Jakobi Dial, Jaylee Dial, Jeffery Clark III, Callie Clark, Taelynn Clark, and Warren Cribb; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
