Carolyn McCormick Grillett

Carolyn McCormick Grillett of Laurinburg departed this life at the age of 77 on July 28, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Delton L. and Belle Parrish McCormick, born April 17, 1949 in Scotland County, NC. Carolyn was a valued employee of Bellsouth Telephone, retiring after many dedicated years. She enjoyed completing projects around the house and reading her Bible. Carolyn loved her son, Dwight dearly and enjoyed the many travels they shared earlier in life going to different theatre locations with him.

She is survived by her son, Dwight D. Lawing of the home; and sister, Joyce McCormick Cornell of Cary; along with her loving extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
