Mr. Carlon Locklear was born on December 11, 1943 to Addie Mae and John Winston Locklear. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Mrs. Gertie Mae Locklear, one sister, and three brothers.
Mr. Carlon is survived by his six children, Joe James Locklear (Annette), Kristina Locklear, Iris Overby (Randall), Carmita Jacobs (Joseph), Heather Watson (Richard “Rich”), Leona Roseann Gessler (William), 15 grandchildren, James Adam, Scott, Tierra, Elizabeth (Ben), Brittane (Christian), Cassandra, Sarah (fiancé, Daniel), Morgan, Nick (fiancée, Haylee), Karlyn, Ella, Joseph Carlon, Emily, Ava, Journey, and four great-grandchildren, Noah, Elijah, Olive, and Leah; sisters, Rose Marie McNeill, Glenda Chavis, Deborah Dial, and brothers, Sam Locklear, C.D. Locklear, and Darryl Locklear; along with a host of many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carlon belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served as the Branch President and Bishop. He and his wife were also Temple workers. He also loved being a farmer and riding on his tractors. He proudly served his country in the United States Army along with his community with the Fire Department. Mr. Carlon and his beloved wife instilled in their children hard work and the love of Christ.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
