Carl Madison Phillips, age 65 of Lumberton passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Carl was born February 22, 1955 in High Point, North Carolina to the late Stanley Milton Phillips and Ester Leola Walden Phillips. He was employed with Currie Chain Saw & Honda Motorcycles of Lumberton for over 40 years where he acquired the nickname of “Red”. He attended Victory Christian Church, enjoyed tinkering on various things and spending time with family.
Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his; brothers, Woodrow “Wally” Wilson Phillips, Samuel David Phillips, and Gary Lee Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Sybil Boone Phillips of the home; daughter, Carla Marie Locklear (Rodney); son, Alexander Stanley Phillips, all of Lumberton; his “mom”, Hazel Elenora Griffin Walden of Laurinburg; brothers, Milton Partlow “Sonny” Phillips of Latta, SC, Kenneth Neal Phillips of Clio, SC, Harold “Glenn” Phillips of Georgia, James Ray Walden, Timothy Glenn Walden, both of Laurinburg; sisters, Katherine Oleane Matthews, Melissa Ann Stanley both of High Point, Glenda Carlene Moody of Maxton, and Dana Marie Walden of Laurinburg; granddaughter, Alexis Madison Phillips; grandson, Zander Clayton Phillips; father-in-law, “Daddy” George Boone of Lumberton; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tim Holden and Rev. Kenny Hunt. Burial will follow in their family cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
