Cain Thompson, Jr.

Cain Thompson, Jr, age 58 of Maxton passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Cain was born March 30, 1963 in Robeson County, son of the late Cain Thompson, Sr. and Geraldine Locklear Thompson. He loved his work in construction and could always be found giving other’s a helping hand. In his younger years, Cain enjoyed playing basketball. He will truly be missed by his family and friends as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Kent Hunt; sisters, Teresa Ward and Linda Thompson.  

Cain is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Scott Thompson of the home; sons, Chad Brian Hunt (Nikki), Terry Allen Scott; daughter, Felicia Kay Scott Locklear (Marty); brothers, Melvin Hunt, Willie Thompson, Tommy Thompson, William Hunt, Joe Hunt, Rick Hunt, Charles Thompson, Bobby Steen; sisters, Marlene Locklear, Amy Oxendine, Milisa Cooper, Charlene Steen; grandchildren, Anthony Carter, Destiny Chavis, Tinera Hunt, Jessie Locklear, Chelsea Locklear, Bryson Scott, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Israel Branch and Rev. Alton Eugene Scott. Burial will follow in the House of Christ Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
