Bulah Mae Locklear Milligan was the first born to the late Daniel and Georganna Jones Locklear on December 25, 1949. As a child and young lady, she loved helping care for her family and younger siblings. She married the love of her life, Leonard “Pete” Stokes Milligan and they happily raised their family in a Christian home for 44 years until his passing in 2020. Along with being a loving homemaker and caregiver, Bulah retired after many years of service with Abbott Laboratories. She was a true servant for the Lord, a faithful member of the East Laurinburg Church of God where she loved the women’s ministries. She also cherished her ministry visiting those in nursing homes. She enjoyed cooking for her family and fishing in both salt in fresh water. Sharing time with her family, especially her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. With her infectious smile, Bulah always shared the joy and love of Christ to all those she encountered. Her legacy of love will forever be cherished by those she touched. Bulah entered her heavenly home at the age of 71 on April 17, 2021.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Zelbert Locklear and sisters, Star Locklear.
Bulah leaves behind her children, son, Jeremy G. Milligan (Denise) of Maxton; her daughters, Sarah Louise Milligan (Crystal Gunter) of Laurinburg, Shirley Lowery (Wayne) of Laurinburg, Dianna “Dawn” Mozingo (Philip) of Maxton; brothers, Sky Locklear of Lumberton, Presley Locklear, Randall Locklear both of Maxton, Tony Locklear, Don Locklear both of McColl, SC, Dixon Lee Locklear of Maxton; sisters, Sarah Jane Henderson of Pembroke, Munday Mae Locklear, Mary Ann Locklear both of Lumberton, Dymaries Locklear of Maxton; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; her church family along with a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the East Laurinburg Church of God officiated by Pastor Brett Davis. Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at graveside.
