Brian Keith Singletary

With profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Brian Keith Singletary on July 14, 2026.
 

Born on December 28, 1971, in Laurinburg, North Carolina, Brian was proud to call
Laurinburg his lifelong home. He cherished the community where he was raised and
found great joy in the familiar faces and lifelong friendships that surrounded him
throughout his life.

Brian honorably served his country in the United States Navy, retiring in 2011 after
more than two decades of faithful and distinguished service. During his distinguished
career in the Navy, he received the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon (2), Navy Unit
Commendation, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6), Navy/Marine Corps
Commendation Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3), Southwest Asia Service
Medal, United Nations Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. His military career
reflected the honor, dedication, integrity, and quiet professionalism that defined the
way he lived his life. His intelligence, discipline, and commitment to excellence were
evident in every endeavor. To his family, Brian was unquestionably the “smart one.” A
lifelong learner, he had an extraordinary passion for technology, systems engineering,
and computer science. He was always eager to understand how things worked and
generously shared his knowledge with others.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, Brian had a deep love for sports. He was
an outstanding softball player and treasured every opportunity to take the field
alongside his brothers, John and Derrick. Those games created memories and bonds
that will be cherished forever.

Above all else, Brian’s greatest love was his son, Adam. He was a devoted father
whose pride and love for Adam knew no bounds. He was also deeply devoted to his
parents, always ensuring they knew how much they were loved and appreciated.
Brian had a compassionate heart and a gentle spirit. He never hesitated to lend a
helping hand to anyone in need and quietly made a positive difference in the lives of
many. He also had a special affection for animals, especially his beloved dog, Max,
who brought him endless companionship and joy.

Several years ago, Brian gave his heart to the Lord and became a faithful and active
member of his church. His faith provided him strength, purpose, and peace, and he
lived his life with kindness, humility, and compassion.

Brian leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory: his parents,
Jay and Linda Singletary; his beloved son, Adam Singletary; his brother, John
Singletary and wife, Heather; his brother, Derrick Singletary and wife, Talisa; along
with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Brian’s quiet strength, brilliant mind, generous heart, unwavering faith, and deep love
for his family will never be forgotten. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we
find comfort knowing that his legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to
live on in all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Services to celebrate Brian's life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.

Burial with military honors in Hillside Memorial Park.   

The family will have a time of visitation prior to the services on Sunday beginning at 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
