Brenttena "Tina" Pate Locklear

Brenttena “Tina” Pate Locklear, age 47 of Laurinburg departed this life on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 after a long illness.

She was born September 14, 1978 in Scotland County, NC, loving daughter of Martha Fisher and the late William Pate. Along with being a homemaker, Tina worked in customer service with Murphy Brown and also at Bojangles prior to her illness.  She served as a member of River of Life Ministries. Tina enjoyed many things, including fishing, bowling, going shopping, being intrigued by wolves, listening to and making music. She also liked traveling when she could, especially to South of the Border and the beach.

Tina enjoyed following the political process, watching martial arts, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Above all, her greatest joy was time spent with her family and the many cookouts they shared. Tina will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her father, she is preceded in death by a brother, Timmy Ray Pate.

Tina is survived by her husband, Jason Locklear of the home; son, Jacob Pate and daughter-in-law, Kimberly of Laurinburg; daughter, Hannah Hudson; mother, Martha Fisher (Wayne); brothers, William Kenneth Pate, Chris Pate, Matthew Pate (Lisa); sisters, Mary Shannon (Chuck) and Sherry Johnson; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.

The family will have a Celebration of Lile Memorial service on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the River of Life Ministries, located at 15760 Barnes Bridge Road, Laurinburg, NC.  A time of visitation will follow the service at the church.
