Brenda Faye Bryant Locklear beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend departed this life at the age of 77 on May 23, 2026.
She was born May 17, 1949 in Robeson County, NC, a loving daughter to the late John Harvey Goins and the late Ethel Lee Bryant. Brenda was a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of Turnpike Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed going shopping, taking care of the cats she rescued, and was a talented artist who loved painting. Above all, her greatest joy was time spent with family. Brenda will be remembered for her unconditional love, incredible strength, and kindness she shared with everyone. She leaves behind precious memories and a lasting inspiration that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her angel baby son; siblings, Carolyn Locklear, Ricky Bryant, Lula Dial; and granddaughter, Kayla Briann Bryant.
She is survived by her children, Mrs. Mary Jo Sampson (Carlos) of Rockingham, Mrs. Laura Deese (Ted) of Wagram, Mr. John Frederick Bryant (Heather) of West End, Mrs. Shalee Locklear (David) of Wagram; sisters, Emma Lowery of Red Springs, Rhonda Maynor of Maxton; and brother, Jimmy Bryant of Laurinburg; along with thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Turnpike Baptist Church followed by burial in the church cemetery.
