Brenda Oxendine Price departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 65 on September 10, 2024.
Brenda was the loving daughter of the late Rev. John Coy Oxendine and the late Geneva Hunt Oxendine born June 20, 1959 in Laurinburg, NC. She proudly served and the first Native American Female Trooper of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Brenda loved sharing time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains, along with caring for her animals. Brenda will dearly be missed as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Linda Fay Oxendine.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Ashley Locklear (Charles White) of Laurinburg; son, John D. Hunt of Charlotte; brothers, James Coy Oxendine of Laurinburg, Rev. Charles F. Oxendine of Maxton, Dewey D. Oxendine of Laurinburg; her adored grandchild, Mahala Brayboy; and close friends, Debbie Brewer and Phillip Hunt; her loving nieces and nephews, Chuck, Belinda, Jason and Brandy; a host of great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and nephew, along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Earl Deese. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be at a later date.
