Brenda Smith Knight

Brenda Faye Smith Knight, age 72 of Laurel Hill passed away June 19, 2021.

Brenda was born April 7, 1949 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Bennie James Smith and Ida Mae Grainger Smith. She enjoyed her work caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant and attending the Piney Plains Pentecostal Holiness Church. In her leisure time, she loved riding around and shopping. Brenda most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Brenda will truly be missed by all.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jamie Knight; brothers, Terry W. Smith, Bennie J. Smith, Jr., Randy Gene Smith; sister, Barbara Anne Knight.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Raymond Knight of the home; sons, James Knight (Gloria), Thomas Knight (Sherry), all of Laurel Hill; grandchildren, Jamie Knight (Kierrah), Casey Holcombe (Dustin), Raymond Knight, Brandon Knight (Jasmine), Kaleb Knight (McKenzie), great grandchildren, Alayna Knight, Owen Knight; sister-in-law’s, Lillie Mae Knight Smith of Laurel Hill, Shirley T. Smith of Wagram, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Bo Grooms and Rev. Richard Tyson. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the funeral home.
