Bonnie Lee Oxendine Hunt of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 92 on December 23, 2024.
Bonnie was the daughter of the late Marvin and Charity Jacobs Oxendine born October 27, 1932 in Robeson County, NC. She was a devoted homemaker along with working in textiles retiring with over 30 years of service with JP Stevens, Inc. She was a Godly woman and served as a member of the East Laurinburg Church of God along with attending other churches to worship. Bonnie adored her family and cherished time shared with each of them. Those who knew Bonnie will remember her quick wit and humor, always making others enjoy a laugh. She will dearly be missed by all.
Along with her parents, preceding her in death is husband, Howard Hunt; children, James Howard “Bonk” Oxendine, Glenda Faye Hunt Chavis and Jeffrey Lee Hunt; grandchildren, Terry Scott and Chad Brian Hunt; great granddaughter, Arianna Grace Hunt; sisters, Annie Ruth Jacobs, Arneather Thomas, Shirley Cesenaro, Louise Hunt; and brothers, Purcell Oxendine, Willie Oxendine, and Clinton Oxendine.
Bonnie is survived by sons, Jerry Lewis Hunt (Tamara) of Waldroff, MD, Kay “Anthony” Hunt of Laurinburg; daughter, Peggie Lee Hunt of Laurinburg; sisters, Aletha Chavis, Mary Elizabeth Strong, Ruby Delfyette, Sylvia Pittman, Geraldine Oxendine; brothers, Benson Oxendine, Jessie B. Oxendine, Vance Oxendine, CB Oxendine, and Jimmy Oxendine; and eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to services on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
