Betty W. Gibson

Mrs. Betty Jean Walters Gibson, age 78 of Laurinburg, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

She was the loving daughter of the late D.J. Walters and the late Lillian Chavis Jones, born March 18, 1946 in Marlboro County, SC. Betty was a 1964 graduate of Gibson High School. She was a wonderful homemaker along with working in the textile industry for many years until retiring. Betty enjoyed gardening, flowers, caring for others, and loved the years she helped raise many children. Her greatest joy came from time spent with family especially her grandchildren. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Maxine Caulder.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 60 years, Bobby Gibson, Sr., of the home; sons, Bobby Gibson, Jr., and wife, Genine of Stem, NC, and Brian Gibson and wife, Donna of Laurinburg, NC; daughter, Cindy Outlaw and husband, Otis of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren, Travis, Josh, Courtney, Heather, Katie, Faith, Macie, Andrew, Riverton, Dalton, Gracie, Elizabeth, Lauren, Kaylee; and great-grandchildren, Bennett, Rebekah, Kaelynn, Gracen, Paisley, Alivia, Rowyn, Garrison, Jett, Alayna, Jameson, and Ava; along with her loving extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Pinecrest Cemetery.   A time of visitation will be held prior to the services on Monday beginning 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on at the funeral home.
