Betty Ruth (Williamson) Fields

Betty Ruth Williamson Fields, age 87, formerly of Laurinburg passed away to her Heavenly home Monday, February 10, 2020.

Betty was born May 15, 1932 in Scotland County, loving daughter of the late Lacy Williamson and Nellie Burdell Williamson. She was the owner of a daycare where she enjoyed loving on those who were under her care. She was a member of East Laurinburg Church of God. She enjoyed working in her yard and was an avid reader. Spending time with her family as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt brought Betty great joy.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Cleo Fields, Sr.; brothers, Tom Williamson, Leroy Williamson and sister, Maxine White.

Betty leaves behind her children, son, Ralph Fields, Jr. and wife, Kay Peele Fields of Laurinburg; daughters, Brenda Fields Sinclair and husband Jim of Arizona, Janie Fields Dickens and husband, Stephen of Laurinburg; sisters, Geraldine Inman and family of Lumberton,  Ann Vaive and family of Michigan; brother-in-law, Noah Fields and special niece, Janice Fields of Laurinburg;  grandchildren, Ralph C. Fields, III and wife Amy, Susan Fields Horton, Elizabeth Moser Burroughs and husband Jesse, Leslie Christman; great grandchildren, Tristin, Lacy, Chloe, Riley, Sydney, Kynleigh, Miley, Gabriella "Gabby", McKensi, Cameron, Eden, Ali Morgan Stephens and husband, Ashe; one great-great granddaughter, Abbilynn Della Stephens, and a host of family and friends.

A Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2020 in Hillside Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Brett Davis and Rev. Harry Clark.
