Bernice Scott Williams

Mrs. Bernice Scott Williams loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away at the age of 74 on December 19, 2024.

She was born May 15, 1950 in Scotland County, NC, daughter of the late Roy and Mary Anna Locklear Scott. Bernice loved her work helping others prepare their taxes each year until retiring. She enjoyed attending Wagram Emanuel Holiness Church. Bernice loved a good cup of coffee, baking cakes, shopping, and traveling to the beach. She cherished her years as a foster parent and especially loved time spent with her family and the memories they shared. Bernice will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her love and devotion to her family.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David "Lee" Williams, Jr., son, Jason Lee Williams; siblings, Ella Cummings, Frank Scott, Roy Scott, Jr., John Alan Locklear, Frances Canipe, Stacey Locklear, and Margaret Locklear.

Left to cherish her memory, sons, David Earl Williams and Little Jason Williams both of Laurinburg; daughter, Melissa “Lisa” Lynn Locklear (Phillip) of Laurinburg, Christine Williams also of Laurinburg; Angela Williams of Wagram, Cassity Williams of Laurinburg; siblings, Pearlie Rogers (Tommy) of Laurinburg, Ennis Scott (Teresa) of Florence, SC, James Robert Scott (Linda) of Red Springs, Mary Jane Goins of McColl, SC; grandchildren, Braxton Williams, Alexis Burris, Kaison Pasley, Reginald Fairley, Jr., Jessica Lynn Williams; a special friend, Odie Robles; and brother -in-law, Sanford Cummings; along with a host of loving family and friends.  

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  Visitation will be prior to services on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
