Bennie "Pete" Franklin Gibson

Bennie “Pete” Franklin Gibson, age 78 of Laurel Hill passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020.

Pete was born May 20, 1942 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, son of the late Alexander Erwin Gibson and Daisy Walters Gibson. He was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. He attended the Laurel Hill Church of God of Prophecy. Pete was an avid sportsman, loved fishing and tinkering with small engines. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and friend who will truly be missed.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Sheila Gibson and brother, Charles Gibson.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Paula MacDonald Gibson of the home; his son, Jerome Gibson of Laurinburg; daughters, Lisa Gibson of Laurinburg, and  Ashleigh Gibson of Gibson, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, along with his extended family and friends.

A Graveside Memorial service with military honors will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 in Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at the cemetery.

COVID-19 mandates require facial masks or coverings and attendance will be limited for all services.
