Arthur Prentiss “Pete” Quick, Sr., age 80 of Laurinburg, formerly of McColl, SC, departed this life for his Heavenly home on February 8, 2026.
He was born in Marlboro County, South Carolina on November 18, 1945, loving son of the late Clarence “Buddy” Quick, Sr., and the late Eva Mae Jacobs Quick. Pete retired after thirty-five years of devoted employment as a truck driver for Gaylord Industrial. He served as a faithful member of East Laurinburg Church of God, where he loved to help wherever he could. Pete enjoyed listening to gospel music, helping others, volunteering within his community with the Walk to Emmaus, and supporting his local fire and police departments. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will truly be missed.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Thomas “Thumb” Quick; daughter, Lisa Tucker Quick; brothers, Clarence “Junior” Quick, Jesse Quick, Leroy Quick, Clyde Quick; and sisters, Linda Faye Gibson, Mary Quick Flowers, and Lula Mae Quick.
Left to rejoice in his memory is son, Arthur “Prentiss” Quick, Jr., (Betty) of McColl, SC; stepdaughters, April Gainey and Kim Graham both of Hartsville, SC; sister, Mary Ann Quick English of Laurel Hill; sister-in-law, Effie Quick of Laurinburg; and eleven grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at East Laurinburg Church of God.
A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday beginning 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the church.
