Arenda Beth Mills Easterlin

Arenda Beth Mills Easterlin, age 76 of Laurinburg passed away, Sunday, March 22, 2020.

Arenda was born April 2, 1943 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late Erskine Mills and Hazel Wright Mills. A graduate of Catawba College, Arenda was a lady of many talents, serving the community throughout her lifetime in several capacities, including telephone operator, X-ray technician and senior teller with Wachovia Bank. She also enjoyed her time working with the family business, Easterlin Grocery Store and in management with Hallmark Cards and Gibson Greeting Cards. She also spent time working in the afterschool daycare program with Brenda Gilbert. Arenda enjoyed caring for birds, rabbits and loved her flowers and gardening. To her family, she will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be truly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Guilford Leo “G.L.” Easterlin, Jr. of the home; sons, Matthan Leo Easterlin of Laurinburg, Jonathan Charles Easterlin (Elizabeth) of Laurinburg; sisters, Cathy Ellers of Wilmington, Melissa Simpson of Summerville, SC and one grandchild, along with her nieces, nephews and many friends.

A private Graveside service for the family will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Maxton.
