Rev. Anselo “Bud” Hampton, age 74 of Laurel Hill passed away on October 16, 2020.
Anselo was a son of the late Jack and Sadie Vance Hampton born December 17, 1945 in Logan County, West Virginia. He was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Air Force. He retired after many years in the automotive industry with General Motors. Bud served in the ministry and was a faithful member of XALT Church. He enjoyed playing guitar, and telling jokes and stories. His favorite times were picking with his children and entertaining the grandchildren with duck sounds. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.
In addition to his parents, Bud is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Joyce Minnick Hampton; brother, Joe Hampton and sisters, Alice Dunch and Beatrice Hood.
Surviving are his daughters, Michelle H. Zydor (Tommy) of Laurel Hill, Carol Lynn Celini of Laurel Hill, Joanna Joyce Brown of Laurel Hill, Tina Louise Heidenrich-Millaire of Canada; grandson lovingly raised as his son, Mark Anthony Schopper of Laurel Hill; brothers, Glenn Hampton of Asheville, Arnold Hampton of Ecourse, MI; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is being planned for a later date at XALT Church.
