Annie Ruth (Jones) Locklear

Annie Ruth Jones Locklear, age 68 of Maxton passed away, Monday, May 24, 2021.

Annie was born October 28, 1952 in Robeson County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Guy Jones and Annie Clark Jones. She enjoyed her work in textiles retiring after many years from Sara Lee Industries. Annie faithfully worshipped and served the Lord as a member of the Maxton First Assembly of God. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, cooking for them and also for others. Annie will be remembered and truly missed as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Guy Jones, Eugene Jones, Reginald Jones; sisters, Annie Lois Locklear, Mary T. Chavis; and her grandson, Christian Mendoza.

Annie leaves behind her sons, Andy Brady Locklear of the home; honorary son and daughter-in-law Joshua Lee Locklear (Cody) of Laurinburg; daughter, Brandie Mendoza (Agustin) of Maxton; brothers, Ronald Jones (Patsy) of Pembroke, Melvin Jones, Mitchell Jones, both of Maxton; sisters, Doris J. Locklear, Betty Lois Locklear (Haven), Dorether Esquibel (Angel), Judy J. Locklear (Cordel), all of Maxton; sister-in-law, Janice Jones; grandchildren, James “Austin” Mendoza, Abian L. Mendoza, Hannah J. Locklear, Lidia I. Mendoza, Aiden C. Mendoza, honorary grandchildren, Caden Locklear, Michael “Thor” Lambert, Aubree J. Locklear, Jodee A. Locklear, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Maxton First Assembly of God. Burial will follow in Clark Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
