Angela Terry Chance-Scott

Angela “Angie” Terry Chance-Scott of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 54 on March 13, 2025.

Angie was the daughter of the late Milton Terry, Jr., and the late Deborah Ruth Martin born July 20, 1970 in Hamlet, NC.  She was a devoted homemaker and caregiver who also served for 17 years as a correctional officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections.   She devoted herself to caring for others, especially being a peer supporter with the Samaritan Colony.  She also enjoyed her time shopping, playing cards and her trips at the beach.

She is preceded in death by her son, James Howard Chance III “Trey”.

Angie is survived by her daughter, Catelyn Elizabeth Chance and her adored grandson, Creed Taylor of Laurinburg; two brothers, three sisters, along with a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and devoted friends.

Angie was one of the most loving, giving, caring and selfless person to ever walk this earth. She cherished Catelyn, Trey and Creed more than life itself.  The bond she had with them was unbreakable.  She welcomed friends as family and never met a stranger. The impact she made in this life, leaves an impact on everyone who met her.  Angie enjoyed reminiscing about old times, laughing at all the crazy adventures, fun and memories she built with loved ones and friends.  She never recovered from the loss of her loved ones, most especially the loss of her son Trey.  Though we will miss her dearly, we can cherish the thoughts of her being welcomed with open loving arms.  We will forever love and miss you! The family will have a time of visitation on Tuesday evening, March 18, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.   No other services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be given in Angie’s memory to the Samaritan Colony Inc., 136 Samaritan Drive, Rockingham, NC  28379.
