Almenia Williams Stevens, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away at the age of 80 on Friday, May 16, 2025. She will deeply be missed by all of her loved ones.
Almenia was the daughter of the late Charlie Cleveland Williams and the late Nellie Ruth Lee Williams born March 14, 1945 in Gibson, North Carolina. She married her sweetheart, Larry Paul Stevens on January 16, 1966 sharing their happy life together for over 59 years. She was the proud mother of two sons and delighted to have five precious grandchildren. In addition to being a homemaker, Almenia had a long career with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier retiring after 25 plus years of service. She also faithfully served as a member of Saint Luke United Methodist Church. She loved cooking and baking for her family along with working in her rose and fern gardens. Above all, Almenia cherished her family and loved sharing time with each of them.
Along with her parents, preceding her in death are brothers, Charles Williams and Thomas Williams.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Paul Stevens of their home in Aberdeen; sons, Roger Allen Stevens (Karen) of Randleman, NC, and Brian Paul Stevens of Candler, NC; five adored grandchildren, Ryan Stevens (Sydney), Megan Stevens, Daniel Stevens, Mason Stevens, Isabelle Stevens; sisters, Eddie Williams Pate and Wanda Williams Sheppard both of Laurinburg; in addition to a host of loving nieces, nephews and her extended family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. David Shoemake. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
