Alice Faye Wood

Alice Faye Wood of Laurel Hill departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 83 on September 13, 2025.

She was born July 10, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana, only daughter of the late William C. Wood and the late Doris Atkinson Wood. Alice had a successful career as a Medical Laboratory Technician with Anson Memorial Hospital for many dedicated years until retiring.  She served as a faithful member of the Living Water Church of God. Alice loved spending time reading and studying her Bible, enjoyed crocheting, reading, and watching a good show on the television. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, William Ray Wood.

Left to rejoice in her memory are sons, Mark McVicker of Raeford, Tim McVicker also of Raeford, Robin McVicker and wife, Dawn of Mount Sterling, KY; and her daughter, Rhonda Outlaw and husband, Mike of Laurel Hill; brother, Randy Wood of Indianapolis, IN; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; along with many loving extended family and friends.

A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the Living Water Church of God.   A time of visitation will be prior to the service beginning 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
