Mrs. Alice Parrish Jones was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of August 2, 2026 after a long period of declining health. She lived a long, full life and a true blessing to those who knew and loved her.
Alice was the daughter of the late Mack Lewis Parrish and Chessie Viola Butts Parrish born September 10, 1935 in Harnett County, North Carolina. She shared a wonderful life of 65 years with her late husband, David Newton Jones, Jr., who passed in 2018. She dedicated her life to the love and care of her family as a homemaker. She faithfully served the Lord and prior to her illness, an active member of the First Baptist Church of Aberdeen. She loved helping others and visiting those in the hospital and nursing homes. Alice also enjoyed her time painting, crafting, and working puzzles. Above all, she cherished her time shared with family.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Wrenn Jones Buchanan; siblings, Martin Parrish, James Parrish, William “Bill” Parrish, Alma P. Reid, Evon Brockwell, and Morris Gray Tucker.
Mrs. Alice is survived by her son, Richard “Ricky” Jones and wife, Tammy of Aberdeen; son-in-law, Thomas Fullcher of Winston Salem, five adored grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and loving devoted friends.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Boles Funeral Home & Crematory in Southern Pines. Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be prior to services on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
