Willie “Foster” Harding, age 86 of Laurinburg passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Laurinburg with entombment following in Laurinburg Memorial Park.
Foster was born June 6, 1933 in Scotland County, a son of the late Orzo Harding and Marie Ellen Harding. He was the devoted husband of 46 years to the late Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Harding who preceded him in death in 2003. He retired after 58 years as a professional truck driver. He served as a faithful member of Gray Pond Baptist Church. In his leisure time, Foster enjoyed square dancing, gardening and was an avid sports fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Harding and Lucille Brunsvold.
Foster leaves behind his sons, Ronald “Ronnie” Ray Harding (Veda) of Raleigh, Johnny Glen (Mark) of California; brother, William “Bill” Angush Harding of Laurinburg; sisters, Juanita Bowen of Laurinburg, Helen Lupo of Aberdeen, Lois Suttle of Pinehurst, Millie Covington of Greensboro, Betty Chavis of Laurinburg, Gerri Graham of Bennettsville; grandchild, Shawn Bowman and great grandchildren, Max Bowman, Gates Bowman, Belle Bowman, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
A time of visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
