Samuel Edward Adams

Samuel Edward Adams, age 87 of Laurinburg passed away to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018.

Edward was born June 24, 1931 in Orange County, a son of the late William Edward Adams and Stella Strum Adams. He was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked many years in the textile industry and as a truck driver with Chandler Concrete. He attended the Hillsborough Wesleyan Methodist Church for many years.  After retiring and moving to Laurinburg, he faithfully served as a member of Living Water Church of God.  He loved singing, making music and entertaining others. In his leisure time, he enjoyed tinkering with small engines.  He will always be remembered for “doing things his way” and for his love and dedication to his family.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James “Jimmy” Adams and sister, Bonnie Wagner.

Samuel leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Barbara Averiss Adams of the home, his son, Rev. Steve Adams and wife Janie of Laurinburg and numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Living Water Church of God officiated by Rev. Steve Adams and Rev. Odell Link. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at the church. A private interment will be at a later date.
