Ronnie Chavis

Ronnie Chavis, age 61 of Laurinburg passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019.

Ronnie was born November 25, 1957 in Scotland County, son of Aletha Jacobs Chavis and the late George Leonard Chavis. He worked many years in construction as a talented painter. He enjoyed fishing and cooking on the grill. Ronnie loved his family and especially visiting his aunt, Bonnie Lee. He will be forever missed as a devoted son, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Wayne Polston.

Ronnie leaves behind his loving mother, Aletha Jacobs Chavis of the home; sons, Ronnie Chavis, Jr. (Erica) of Pembroke, Stevie Butler of Myrtle Beach, SC and his daughter, Carolyn Brewer (William) of St. Pauls; brother, George “Leonard” Chavis, Jr. of Virginia; sisters, Mae Belle Chavis, and  Brenda Joyce C. Polston (Mike), all of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Hunter Rich of Pembroke, Serena Brewer (Jacob) of St. Pauls, Alyssa Rozier (Gunnice), Seith Chavis, both of Maxton, Dakota Holland of Laurinburg, Cameron Butler, Braylon Butler, Capri Butler, all of Myrtle Beach, SC; great grandchildren, Elijah Hammonds of St. Pauls, Lakota Hunt, Nalona Hunt, Lakaiden Hunt, all of Pembroke; many special aunts, uncles and a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Woody Byrd and Rev. Jerry Oxendine. Burial will follow in Laurinburg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
