Rex Allen Jones

Rex Allen Jones, age 58 of Maxton passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Smithtown Church of God with burial following in the Church Cemetery.

Rex, son of the late Winford Jones and Delois McNeill Jones was born October 9, 1960 in Robeson County. Rex was a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army and worked many years in the construction business. He was a member of Smithtown Church of God and enjoyed fishing in his spare time.  Rex was the life of the party and loved having friends over for cookouts.  His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially with his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Arvin Jones and Marvin Jones.

He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Betty Hunt Jones of the home; son, Travis Jones of Maxton; daughter, Amy Lowery (James Ashley) of Laurel Hill; brother, Jimmy Dean Jones; sister, Linda Hoyos (Joe), all of Maxton; his grandchildren, Haniah Lowery, Asher Lowery, Dakoma Lowery; his many nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends including a special friend, Michael Lee Locklear.

Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
