Rev. William Joseph “Buddy” Caulder, Jr., age 73 of Hamlet passed away Monday, November 18, 2019.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2019 at Fletcher Chapel Wesleyan Church, officiated by Rev. Andy Stewart. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Buddy, son of the late William Joseph Caulder, Sr. and Louise Kennedy Caulder was born August 26, 1943 in Mullins, SC. He was the loving husband of Patricia Ann Coble Caulder. He was a Vietnam War Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army, medically retiring after 20 years of service. For his service and bravery, he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He was the Commander of the Purple Heart Post 647, and member of the VFW Post 4203 in Rockingham and DAV Post 59 in Hamlet. In 1968, he was discharged as a Vietnam Disabled Veteran. Buddy was a faithful member of Fletcher Chapel Wesleyan Church and loved serving in the prison and nursing home ministries. Among his many past times, he especially enjoyed hunting and golfing. To his family, Buddy will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, William Joseph “Little Buddy” Caulder, III; grandson, William Joseph “Joey” Caulder, IV and sisters, Emma JoAnn Cain and Bonnie Louise Wagner.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Caulder of the home; daughters, Melissa Dennis (Michael) of Houston, TX, Michelle Myer of Southern Pines; daughter-in-law, Billie Jo Caulder of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Dustin Caulder, Timothy Caulder, Amanda Blue (Russell), Jessica Myer, Brittany Dennis, John Michael Dennis, James Matthew Dennis, along with his nieces, nephews, and many friends.Vi
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
