Rev. Dale Lewis Deese, age 74 of Gibson passed away to Heavenly home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
Dale, a son of the late Paris Jackson Deese and Mary Hester Clontz Deese was born April 24, 1944 in Union County, North Carolina. He loved the Lord and served Him faithfully as a Pastor and as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He retired from the ministry after many years as Pastor for Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church. Dale also worked in building maintenance and trucking. He enjoyed gardening, caring for livestock and being outdoors. He believed prayer and laughter was the best medicine. His most precious times were those shared with family and many loving friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Vickey Deese Locklear; brothers, Marvin Deese, Billy Deese, Gary Deese and grandson, Seth Locklear.
He leaves behind in loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Crouch Deese of their home; son, Raymond Deese of Gibson and daughter, Virginia Gleaton of North, SC; brothers, David Deese (Janie) of Waxsaw, Joe Deese (Lavail) of Monroe, Roy Deese (Karen) of Denton, and sister, Mary McDowell (Johnny) of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Victor Keeter, Dallas Gleaton, Austin Gleaton, Bradley Locklear, Stevie Carter; great grandchildren, Casey and Jasper and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Rev. Robert Starner, Rev. Gary Wilson, Rev. J.B. Loving and Bishop Greg Amos. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior at the church..
